AuthorViola Waln, is an enrolled member of the federally recognized Rosebud Sioux Tribe. She resides on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. A freelance journalist since 2001, her articles, columns and photographs have appeared in several print and online news sources. Vi has served as Editor of the Lakota Country Times since 2009. Her column about the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Annual Celebration won First Place in the 2010 South Dakota Newspaper Association Contest. Archives
